ABOUT

Bio

Born in 1991, Mahé Elipe is a French photographer based in Mexico City. She completed graduate studies in France with a Bachelor's degree in Applied Arts and at the EPTA School of Photography, where she honed her skills in visual arts.

After several years working in the fashion industry in Paris, Mahé radically changed course and began her career as a photojournalist in 2016 in Latin America. Her documentary work focuses on the human condition with a particular interest in the place of women in society, which will lead her to settle permanently in Mexico where she has been living for almost 5 years. A member of the Women Photograph collective, Mahé focuses her attention on social issues and tries to construct her images by drawing on the culture of those she meets.

She had the opportunity to complete her training, thanks to the Workshop Nikon-Bayeux security in conflict zone in 2018, as well as the Masterclass Nikon-NOOR Academy in Budapest the same year. She is also one of the winners of the Reuters Photojournalists Grants 2019 and as such was able to attend the Reuters Safety Training in Athens. Mahé was recently selected to attend The Eddie Adams Workshop XXXIII in October 2020.

The photographer has collaborated with various media such as Le Monde, Libération, Médiapart, Al Jazeera, Amnesty international, The Guardian, Washington Post …

In 2018, his photographic work was made visible in various exhibitions, including in October 2019, as part of the festival "Les rencontres photographiques du 10ème" in Paris. As well in 2020 at the National Museum of Immigration History in Paris.
