ABOUT

Bio

Born in 1991, Mahé Elipe is a French photographer based in Mexico City since 2016, after several years working in the fashion industry in Paris. Her work blends photojournalism with documentary, bordering on fine art photography. Her focus is on the human condition, with particular attention to the role of women in society. She is a recipient of the Reuters Photojournalists Grants 2019 and also received the COVID-19 Emergency Fund from the National Geographic Society in 2020. She was a finalist in the YBIPA 2022 at Athens Photo World and won the Women Photograph Project 2022, as well as the Françoise Demulder Prize 2023 at the Visa pour l’Image Festival. In 2024, she won the Sony World Photography Awards in the Professional Environment category. The photographer collaborates with various media outlets such as Libération, Le Monde, Bloomberg, The Guardian, NRC, and Reuters. Her authorial work has been exhibited at various venues, including in 2022 in Łódź, Poland, at the Fotofestiwal, and in Barcelona, Spain, during the II BCN-DH Festival the same year.
